Welcome from
Pastor Brent and Charda Lively

Over ten  years ago I prayed that God would plant me somewhere for a lifetime. I knew then to impact a city for Christ would take great sacrifice, discipline and a lifelong commitment. I’m thankful that God chose me to lay down deep roots in one of the most up-rooted and un-churched cities in America; where the need is great and few are willing to go.

God’s Word says that the man who trusts in the Lord and whose confidence is in God will be planted with deep roots. This kind of planting is described as a tree that does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green, it has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit in every season. I believe that we are that kind of planting. We’ve been rooted and built up in Christ, strengthened in our faith, and are overflowing with thankfulness.

The families of Deep Roots Christian Church are a new kind of planting who are being prepared and called to advance God’s Kingdom. We have been planted here in order to reap multiplied blessings, favor, and a harvest of souls. As we dig deep in this new garden and field of God, a harvest of spiritual sons and daughters will emerge who will become spiritual fathers and mothers that will change families, this city and touch the world! God will plant them, they will take root, and then they will grow and bear fruit.

The progress we make in these next few months and years will impact future generations. Your faith pledge, increased prayer and involvement will reap an eternal harvest that only God could measure. In this season of our lives we need your help and support more than ever! Your response to this vision will help us make an eternal investment and difference!

Our Identity

We are a non-denominational congregation made up from all walks of life who love Jesus and sincerely desire to see His Kingdom come on earth has it is in heaven. Peter Wagner, former Fuller Seminary Professor and now president of Global Harvest Ministries, uses the term “New Apostolic Reformation” to describe the present worldwide move of God. The new apostolic church is one that is focused on the Kingdom of God and its King, Jesus. These churches believe in the truth of God’s Word, have expressive praise and worship, believe in the gifts and operation of the Holy Spirit and are committed to advancing His Kingdom. This describes Deep Roots Church.

We have a simple desire to worship God in spirit and in truth, to live by the Word of God and to minister by the power and manifestation of the Holy Spirit to whomever the Lord sends to us.

We believe that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. He is still seeking and saving the lost, bringing all that will receive His love into eternal relationship with Him. This is not joining a church, but experiencing real life, which can only come from Jesus, the source of life. Our heart cry is to know Him; not just to gather more information about Jesus, or adhere to doctrine, but a living, life giving, relationship with the Word of Life and being changed by His awesome love.

Catch the Vision

We Believe…

The Triune Godhead: God is revealed to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

That the Bible is the inspired Word of God, a divinely preserved “lamp for our feet and light for our path.” (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21).

That Jesus Christ in the flesh was both God and man, and He died for our sins and arose from the dead. (John 11:1-14; Philippians 2:5-8; 1 Corinthians 15:1-8).

That every person is precious to God as His creation, but “all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23). That every follower of Christ should repent of his or her sins, confess their faith, and be water baptized. (Romans 10:8; Acts 2:38)

That salvation with its forgiveness, its imparting of a new nature, and its hope of eternal life is by the pure grace of God. (Ephesians 2:8-9)

That the Church is the Body of Christ on earth and exists to glorify God, save the lost, equip the saints, and enjoy God forever.

That Holy Spirit is an endowment of power available to every Christian at or subsequent to conversion. As a result, any spiritual gifts should be manifest with balance and guidance from the local church ministry.

That the church is God’s highest institution on earth. The message and the mission of the church is “the gospel of the Kingdom,” which simply means the “rule” of God. Our responsibility is to advance God’s Kingdom on earth.

In God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord: who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried; the third day He rose from the dead; He ascended into heaven and was seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. He shall come again to judge the quick and the dead. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Universal (one Body) Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen
